Neurodiversity Learning Support Consultancy

Welcome
I’m Kate Coldrick, a neurodivergent educational consultant with over 25 years’ experience supporting autistic, ADHD, and neurodivergent learners. Through Neurodiversity Learning Support Consultancy, I help parents who are home educating to create tailored, inclusive approaches that make learning accessible, enjoyable, and sustainable.
About Me
I have worked in state, independent, and specialist residential schools from Early Years through to Secondary. Since 2015 I have also worked as a private tutor at katecoldrick.com, supporting learners across mainstream, home education, and alternative settings. You can read more about my teaching philosophy in Teaching Autistic Students – Insights from 25 Years’ Experience
My focus has always been on helping children and young people who think differently to succeed in environments that are often not designed with them in mind. As a home education consultant based in Woodbury near Exeter in Devon, I bring both professional expertise and lived experience to support families on their journey.
Why Home Education Consultancy?
Home education offers freedom and flexibility, but it can also feel daunting, especially when supporting autistic or ADHD learners. Many parents I work with want reassurance that they are doing the right thing, along with practical strategies that make day-to-day learning work. On my main website, I share resources and reflections such as Inclusive Education for Autistic Students: Evidence Gaps and Urgent Questions. You can also explore more of my writing on autism, ADHD, and inclusive education in the Articles section of this site.
My consultancy is designed to empower families by:
- Creating personalised learning plans
- Suggesting resources tailored to your child’s needs and interests
- Offering advice on routines, structure, and flexibility
- Supporting you to navigate challenges with confidence
My Approach
I believe every child has the potential to thrive when education is adapted to respect their neurotype. You might find my blog post Rethinking Behaviour and Belonging: Why “What Works” in 2025 Needs to Mean More a useful insight into my approach.
My role is to listen, guide, and provide practical strategies that make learning enjoyable and accessible. With empathy, creativity, and experience, I work alongside families to build confidence in home education.
